  • One out of every 285 children is diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20
  • Less than 5% of the government’s total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer each year
  • The average cost to stay at a pediatric cancer hospital costs $40,000 per stay
The Good News:
  • Just $19 can pay for thermometers for a child
  • Since 1962 survival rates increased from under 20%-80% overall
  • Public donations cover more than 75% of St. Jude’s funding
  • Since 1942, St. Jude has treated more than 200,000 children
